LIVE SUMMER 2013

This summer is our time. With the release of my 2 projects, THE MASK EP & Sketchbook 3, I realize that I need to put on a show for you all.

Thanks to one of my friends at Pratt, I was introduced to this chill track and true artist. T0ne is genuine and poetic with a really easy flow. And better still, he is actually speaking about something that people can relate to. No money or hoes to be found! Let’s get into his lyrics: “There’s beauty in simplicity. I’m simply too complex, overly conscious of my tendencies… Fearing my message ain’t hitting where your earlobes at… To make history you need a little living in the moment, you want it, but know when it’s hard to focus when you’re alone and you’re home and the demons are teething upon your bones… Wrestle with the evils, my insecurities, living this life ‘till I can find the cure for me.” A timeless struggle for those who are insecure. The worst part about insecurities is that they are internal in nature, meaning that there is no escaping from them. Everyone has been insecure about something or everything, so I don’t need go into that. “While I toil from war, I’m sore, aching but never breaking. I gotta take it, you can’t fake it to make sh*t, ‘cus that’s all you’ll get. Reaching perfection only settle for excellence.” I love when people are living up to their potential, or at least they they recognize it, so I’m glad that T0ne reiterates that any less than that will produce lesser results. Anyway, I really love his flow and this beat in particular, so I’m going to delve into his other work now. I advise you to do the same ;)

This is why I make music. My goal is to get someone, anyone through their struggles because I struggle. Music has so much power, like drugs. You can find new hope, fall in love all over again, or even get persuaded to hurt someone, even yourself. A lot of “artist” (I use the term loosely) don’t truly understand that power, abuse it, or use it irresponsibly. 

As a musician, as an artist, as a man, I cannot ever allow myself to misuse my God given gifts. I merely want to inspire hope. Cause Lord knows I need it more than anything.
